That does look pretty tight.

Wonder how it works though...

If you have a higher boost pulley on, the SC will still be spinning fast, while boost is being bled off.

While this is good and everything, the intake charge will still be heated up regardless.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Can somebody enlighten me as to how the intake temps won't be high if you use a smaller pulley and that device?

My guess is that boost is not bled off. The bypass (which is before the blower) is opened (by some sort of controller) just enough to keep max boost where you set.

This should keep intake temps proportional to boost. Cool non-compressed air will mix with the hotter compressed air.

So, (really simplifying thigs here!) with a 12psi pulley setup and the boost controller set on 6psi, the air coming out of the blower is hotter than a regular 6psi setup, but it gets mixed with plenty of cool air.

I wonder if the cylinders farther away from the bypass end up with hotter air?

Also, some kind of one-way mechanism would have to be fitted to the bypass so the compressed air in the manifold can't exit into the 0psi area of the intake system.

Now that I've re-read what just wrote, I don't think that's how it will be done. Too many problems and complications arise from using the bypass.

Maybe it uses a variable size pulley (you know, the centrifugal ones with a V shaped slot between two seperate pulley walls that seperate further and reduce pulley size the faster they spin) and a spring loaded belt tensioner. I can see how that could be adjusted with moveable weights on the pulley, but can't imagine how to control that electronicly.

Or how about a pulley with an adjustable viscous clutch! Aren't there viscous fluids that change viscousity when current flows through them? It'll spin the blower until the clutch starts to slip (when it'll remain at that max rpm).

I think I saw zip say before that you slap on a smaller pulley and dial in your desired boost. That's why I said what I did before in the previous post.
